1. Each person will be an expert on their own mutation

(example X-linked, Y-linked, autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, etc.)

2. Create a pedigree chart involving at least 3 generations and also same cousins and uncle/aunt. Each group member will incorporate their genetic mutation into the chart and show how they are passed along from generation to generation.

First, form groups of maximun 2 person. Each group will be responsible for creating a pedigree chart. Each member of the group will pick/create their own mutation that will be incorporated together on one chart.

Follow each link in the web to find information on that specific step.

How are we going to do the activity?

3. The mutations could consist of inherited diseases, or could even be imaginary or "superhero" mutations. Each mutation must follow a real genetic inheritance pathway and must be explained.

Be Creative!

An example is the Royal Family Pedigree. Use this pedigree as a guide.

4. Provide a brief family history for the pedigree, giving a possible reason for each of the mutations, including any imaginary ones.

You are going to make this activity like a homework.

You must give the pedigree chart in an A3 paper with the description of the mutation amd the genetics and phenotype inheritance of the family.
