Genetic Mutations: Closer than you think
What are we going to do in this activity?
The task at hand is to use this activity to create a pedigree chart.
In this chart you will incorporate 2 distinct mutations.
These mutations must follow their specific genetic inheritance, and must be explained the genetics (Ejm: A-a) and the phenotypes of these mutation.
PEDIGREE CHART
It is a diagram that shows the phenotypes and the genotypes of a particular gene in an organism.
Pedigrees use a standardized set of symbols:
Squares represent males
Circles represent females
Someone with the phenotype in question is represented by a filled-in (darker) symbol.
